Work produced as a part of study during the Masters of Fine Art program undertaken at RMIT University 2014-15.
This project explored the possibilities and limits of different forms of representation (or language). Testing whether using varied types of representational drawing that each have their own limitations and strengths, can highlight the essentially reductionist nature of language, pointing to the way it simplifies reality in order to convey meaning.
This project was an exploration of the relationship between self and other within the paradigm of Phenomenology. Using detailed, repetitive drawing to focus attention on the coat in an attempt to better understand its essence.
